What do you do at Mikkeller?
Logistics, shipping and communication are my main focus areas on a daily basis.
When all the Mikkeller beers travel around the world to meet new thirsty souls, I have made sure they get there in time. When anyone wants to know what Mikkeller is all about, I tell them the fascinating story of Mikkeller, what we do, what we can do, what we will do in the future. Communicating Mikkeller to the press, to the people, to the distributors, to you. That’s my mission!
Which Mikkeller beer is your favorite?
I can always drink a George, both the original and the bourbon barrel aged version. Smooth, thick, rich, oily, I dig it hard.
How did you join the firm?
I got familiar with Mikkeller’s beers when meeting my girlfriend Maria. From the beginning of Mikkeller she designed the beer labels. When I meet her she always had loads of Mikkeller beers. I liked it, I liked her. Apparently Mikkel heard about this dude she was dating, and he needed dudes to get this bar going. I became a Mikkeller dude!
Since then Mikkeller has grown and in May 2011 I was asked to join Mikkeller on a fulltime basis.
When not at work?
I like to drink beers and dwell a bit on the big questions in life: what is in this beer I drink? What hops? What is happening on ratebeer? AND I like the simple life when reading Joyce, Foucault and classics.
When I really need a break, I play a long blues on my guitar, my son Frans (born October 2011) seems to like it a lot and he KNOWS music.
For me, the good life has become to respect my past as an intellectual studying type (I studied history and can post modernize the sunlight out of you) and convert this attitude towards my professional business life in the world of Mikkeller. This is what’s happening now.
