Listen up Mikkeller Freaks & beer geek friends!

We want to do regular monthly tastings in connection to the Mikkeller & Friends bottle shop. Tastings will be themed and feature beers that we carry in the shop so that you guys can carry home the message of high quality craft beer and share it with your besties.

First tasting will be sunday the 2nd of June at 15.00. And it’ll feature farmhouse styled beer, a genre thats hard to put into words but easy to drink.

6-8 beers 1,5-2 hours session. 200DKK. You sign up by emailing james@mikkeller.dk.

We are close now – one day and the 2013 version of Copenhagen Beer Celebration will start.

Today we celebrate Keith Shore and his amazing art work down at our bottle shop at Mikkeller & Friends Stefansgade 35, kld, 2200 Copenhagen N.

Come down there, grab a beer and meet the crazy artist from 6:00 pm and onwards!

After souring up all your stomachs at Mikkeller & Friends’ Sour Event yesterday we now want to go regional on you!

Oh yes – we have been so lucky to get our hands on a rare list of beers – the best of the best craft brewers from Chicago (those who couldn’t make it at CBC) teamed up and gathered a pallet of beers just for our humble bar.

Let’s get this straight. We are overwhelmed and happy for this. So overwhelmed that we want to share this with you and instead of just putting one beer on at a time we want to give you the fuuulllllllll monty!

It is the week of Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2013 and beer geeks are gathering from all over the world in Copenhagen to celebrate extreme beer culture.

We at Mikkeller salute the Celebration. We salute all the brewers attending, but we specially salute all the beer freaks from all over the world who are in town, so we have decided to put up some beautiful events during this week so people can get ready for the celebration and cool down afterwards.

The following will be the events we will do the next Couple of days:

Tuesday 30th April:
Sour day at Mikkeller & Friends – Stefansgade 35, kld, 2200 Copenhagen N from 4:00 PM.
At 4:00 PM we will harden your stomach with a sour show containing none less than 20 sour beers on tap! Beers from following breweries will flow:
Boon, Cantillon, Girardin, Mikkeller, Rodenbach & To Øl.

Wednesday 1st May:
Chicago Craft Beer event at Mikkeller Bar – Viktoriagade 8B-C, kld, 1655 Copenhagen V from 2:00 PM
We celebrate 1st May by getting beers from some hard working brewers all the way from chicago and putting them on at the same time at the bar. All 20 taps will have beer pouring from following breweries, so bring your inner Al Capone:
Revolution Brewing, Solemn, Half Acre, Begyle, Piece, Haymarket, Pipeworks & Spiteful Brewing.
WHAT A FUCKING LIST! Amazing line up.

Thursday 2nd May:
Keith Shore Wall Take Over at Mikkeller & Friends Bottle Shop – Stefansgade 35, kld Copenhagen N From 2:00 pm.
We celebrate one of the most innovative, creative and crazy label designers to make an art show with tons of original drawings, paintings and new wood cuts for the Mikkeller & Friends. It is Keith Shore, who will rule this night, so come down for a beer and we will provide som eye candy for you!

Friday 3rd & Saturday 4th:
These are the days Copenhagen Beer Celebration is rolling where 30 different breweries will serve 270 different beers at Spartas Løbehal in Copenhagen Ø – if you don’t know follow this link. If you do know then you probably also want to know that our bottleshop at Mikkeller & Friends is opening extra early (Fri: from 10 am., Sat: from 9:30 am., Sun: from 10 am) so all you beer geeks can get your early birds. Friday all bars opens 2:00 pm. and closes 2:00 am.

Sunday 5th April:
3 years Birthday of Mikkeller Bar Viktoriagade!!! At Mikkeller Bar Viktoriagade 8BC 1655 Copenhagen V from 12:00 am.
You heard it – the first Mikkeller Bar will be 3 years old on Sunday 5th and we are going to celebrate by throwing a big street party outside the bar at Viktoriagade. Bands will play, food and recovery cocktails will be served and there will of course be tons of unique crazy beers from all the crazy breweries in town. Check for updates at this link.

Sunday , May 5^th it is the great philosopher Søren Kierkegaard’s 200th birthday. Or would have been – if he was  still alive, obviously. The birthday of the world’s first existentialist will be marked with lot of events around Copenhagen, the city that had such a great influence on his thinking.

At Mikkeller we believe Kierkegaard is the most important philosopher ever. And yes, we have read him.

But he’s not the only one who who will be celebrating a birthday on May 5^th.  The world’s first Mikkeller Bar in Viktoriagade turns three, and we’ll celebrate this with a big block party.

The entire street will be filled with happy people, music, food and sunshine.

Meson España will make delicious tapas, John from John’s Hot Dog Deli will pamper you with grilled meats, WOODAH HOSTEL makes vegetarian food, and Mikkeller Bar will of course serve all the beer you could wish for.

With Kirkegaard it is either or, at Mikkeller Bar you don’t have to choose. You can have it all.

The party starts at 12. Be there or be square.

We now present the latest stuff from the development department: Mikkeller & Games. A wide series of all your favorite game classics with a beatiful Mikkeller Twist.

First to be presented is the Mikkeller Årh Hvad!? Puzzle – a 244 brick puzzle, that will make a blast at your upcoming family game night.

We have also just released our first Mikkeller Memory Game where 25 different Mikkeller label classics has been made into a classic Memory Game. Challenge your kids memory and get them to understand quality beer at the same time – who said drinking makes you stupid?

Mikkeller & Friends – the new beer bar in Stefansgade – is already a great success. RateBeer has rated the bar as “The best beer bar in the world”.
So we are of course we are very proud and happy.

In this blog post we will remember the day the bar opened. We will dwell on all the happy faces, all the nice people and all the good beer we drank that day.

Sunday the 5th of May, the day after CBC, it’s Mikkeller Bar in Viktoriagade’s three years anniversary. Of course we are celebrating it with a huge party. A block party where everyone in the street participates, and to which you are hereby invited.

We’ll set up a scene, and there will be a band playing gypsy jazz (an obvious choice for a gypsy brewery). The world’s best sausage stand chef John from John’s Hot Dog Deli will come by and make you pulled pork. The sweet yoga enthusiasts from Woodha Hostel will make you vegetarian soups. A mobile cocktail bar will be there. You’ll be there, of course, and all your new friends that you’ve been drinking beers with during the CBC will be there. And brewers and happy people from everywhere will be there along with the staff from all your favorite breweries.

This birthday party is not just the most amazing birthday party any bar ever have had, it is also the best way to end the Copenhagen Beer Celebration.
