Beer geeks, time to get giddy and do your best Mr. Burns “Excellent” impression! Mark you calendars on the 19th of January because we have a feast of Flemish reds by Rodenbach waiting for you!
On tap we will have a vertical of:
Rodenbach Grand Cru (2010-2016)
The Grand Cru is a top, mixed-fermented beer, with lactic acid bacteria, that matures in huge oak foeders for 2 years. The Grand Cru blend consists of two-thirds mature beer with 1/3 younger beer. The regular Rodenbach is only 1/3 mature beer and 2/3 younger beer.
Tonight is therefore truly a unique experience to try 7 vintages side by side!
Rodenbach Vintage 2014
The Vintage 2014, is the beer that the brewmasters select as the best barrel of the year and is a 2 year old 100% mature beer. The year specified is the year that the beer was brewed.
Rodenbach Caractère Rouge
The Caractère Rouge, is a variety of the Vintage series that has matured for another 6 months, with added krieken sour-cherries, raspberries and cranberries.
Rodenbach Alexander (17 years ago since the last time it was released)
It was last brewed in 1999 and released in 2000 and has gone down in beer history as one of those legendary beers that you just had to try. Up until now, bottles of the previous batch sold for over $1000. Rodenbach has yet again decided to brew this marvelous beer and tonight you can get it on Tap!
It is a blended “foederbier” with macerated sour cherries, clocking in at 5.6 % ABV.
