Mikkeller SF – San Francisco Beer Week Events

The San Francisco Beer Week is about to commence and we want to be sure that you are prepared for making the most out of the week.

The Bar in San Francisco will be hosting a range of epic events over the week and we have gathered them all below here.

Modern Times – TIMES WELL GET BETTER
When: February 11th (From 6pm)

Modern Times Annual Mikkeller Release!

Featuring ‘brewery-only’ releases & new ‘limited release’ beers. This year’s event will surpass last years in quantity and quality and focus on the sour program. We will be pouring rare bottles and special kegs along with the upstairs bar, which will be pouring the brewery classics during our San Diego Celebration day. Special guest and Modern Times Beer Wizard Craig Harbick will provide detailed information regarding Modern Times’s brewing methods as well as an interactive discussion of each beer.

This is a ticketed event, 20 tickets are available. Tax and Gratuity included ($70).

San Diego Day
When: February 11th – All Day (12am-12pm)

In addition to Modern Times event, Mikkeller SF will celebrate the inauguration of our very own stateside brewery in San Diego. This is an all day event and will feature breweries from the great city of San Diego. Expect the best from Mikkeller SD, Modern Times, Port Brewing, Lost Abbey, Alesmith and other special guests.

Special beer tapping at 2pm, 4pm and 6pm.

This event is open to the public, stop by anytime for a special brew!

Perennial Artisan Ales – Sump Coffee Blending Tutorial
When: February 12th (4pm-6pm)

Perennial Artisan Ales, one of the finest Mid-western breweries will join us in the Sour Room for a special Sunday class. We will pour and discuss the annual release of the world famous coffee beer ‘Sump,’ paying particular attention to its blending method. This is an interactive coffee and beer-blending event. The founders of Perennial Brewing and Sump Coffee will present the class. In addition to the blending session we will pour amazing stouts and an excellent selection of the best Perennial has to offer.

This event will be paired with sweet & savory pastries

Firestone Walker – Jeffers On Acid with Visuals
When: February 15th (5.30pm-7pm)

Firestone Walkers Annual – Barrel Works Program.

This is your opportunity to hear Jeffers talk about Acid in beer and sour beers in general. This is a tutorial like no other beer class you have attended. This year’s class includes a visual presentation and beers from the Barrel Works Series paired with cheeses. We will be celebrating all things Firestone Walker this Wednesday, pouring special beers and are open to the public.

Jester King Brewery – The Spon Effect
When: February 16th (4pm-6pm)

Appreciated in the business the forward thinking brewery Jester King will be highlighted in the Sour Room. We are proud to present the brewer’s first attempts with a coolship. This is also the first time this beer has been released together outside of the brewery. This event will feature three of the ‘Spon Series’ including Methode Gueuze. In addition, a fresh sampling of Jester King bottle selections. The event will be in the Sour Room hosted by members of the brew team. Snacks of Boar meat and cheese will be served family style. Members of the brew team will be available to answer questions about the beer, the brewery, and explain what makes the magic that is Jester King Beer.

Beachwood Blendary American Lambic Style
When: February 16th (7pm-9pm)

With the blendery up and running Beachwood is finally able to release its Lambic interpretation beers that have been in the works for years. These are normally limited bottle releases and brewery only beers. The brewery and blender Ryan Fields will be here to discuss their methodology and attention to detail and degree of wild luck needed to replicate this famous style and region of beer. This event will be served with family style bread and cheeses.

All Oregon beer and Beer not from Oregon – Alternative Facts
When: February 18th (12am till 12pm)

Starting at noon we will be tapping over 40 beers from 15 breweries from the beautiful state of Oregon. All are highlights to us but to name a few for you hunters out there here you go Ale song, Ale Apothecary, Boneyard, Crux, Caldera, Commons, Logsdon, De garde, Deschutes, Groundbreaker Pelican, etc. etc. We will also be feature special guests taps of different Lambic, Rare BA stouts and whatever else we can get our hands own. Thus it is not all Oregon beers but nowadays with all the Alternative facts you never know what you will get. We promise not to disappoint, stop by and have a beer you have never had before.
