Today we received a happy e-mail from a happy man.
The happy man is Perniclas Bedow, owner and founder of the graphic design studio Bedow.
The e-mail says:
Just came home from the Swedish Design Awards with the jury’s honorable mention – the special award “Graphic delight of the year”.
The jury says:
The Spring Ale label shows a snowflake transforming into a sun with the help of heat-sensitive ink. A splendid union of concept, technology and craft. A pared-down graphic solution which is very heartwarming. Mikkeller + Bedow are therefore the recipients of the jury’s special award “Graphic delight of the year”.
At Mikkeller we are very happy and proud to have our beer wrapped in this exceptional and now also award-winning label.
We are already looking forward to the third beer in the series, an Autumn Porter. The label is also printed with a heat-sensitive ink – which means, again, that when the bottle comes out of the fridge and the label heats up the dandelion seeds on it turn into raindrops.
The autumn porter from Mikeller+Bedow is limited to 3500 bottles.
